How to Know If You Are a Good Candidate For the Sculptra Butt Lift Procedure

Non-surgical Sculptra Butt Lift Procedure

Buttocks are becoming an increasingly important aspect of the modern individuals’ aesthetic goals; however, the idea of invasive surgery to augment the buttocks can be daunting. Thanks to revolutionary Sculptra® injections, you can now get the fuller, curvier buttocks you’ve been dreaming of without the risks associated with surgery!

Hooman Khorasani, MD, is highly trained in Sculptra® injection techniques, and he can enhance the shape and size of your buttocks without a single incision. You can finally enjoy a more shapely backside without fear of noticeable scars or complications from more invasive methods.

The science of Sculptra®

Sculptra is an injectable dermal filler that can augment areas of soft tissue or skin. The filler contains poly-l-lactic acid, a substance that triggers your body’s own production of collagen.

By injecting Sculptra® into areas that have lost volume, your body is stimulated to produce new collagen. This leads to increased volume of the soft tissues that endures for many months after injection.

Why the buttocks loses volume

As you grow older, your body slows down its production of collagen. This, in turn, can cause you to develop areas that lose volume and start to sag. Your backside is one area significantly affected by age-related collagen loss, which can become flatter and lose its healthy texture.

You may also become unhappy with the shape of your buttocks because of your physical fitness routines. Often, athletic people can lose too much fat in the upper part of the buttocks because of daily exercises and dietary restrictions. This contributes to a loss of buttock curvature and projection.

Defining a Sculptra® candidate

Determining your candidacy for a Sculptra® butt lift requires Dr. Khorasani to review your medical history and a discuss your cosmetic goals; however, in general, the procedure is most suitable for patients with the following characteristics:

  • You’re age 25-45
  • Are in good overall health
  • Are close to a healthy body weight
  • Are dissatisfied with the appearance of your buttocks
  • Have reasonable expectations for results

Sculptra® procedures are ideal if you want natural-looking results and increased volume in your buttocks without having to undergo surgery.

Buttocks Augmentation using Sculptra Before and After

What to expect from Sculptra®

The Sculptra® procedure involves a series of injections using very small needles. Typically, it takes multiple treatments to fully restore areas of lost volume the buttocks with each treatment scheduled six weeks apart.

There is minimal pain involved in the treatment, as you can receive a numbing cream on the injection site prior to your procedure. Nitrous oxide (“laughing gas”) is another option Dr. Khorasani offers to make the experience more comfortable. There is no downtime, and you can return to your regular activities after leaving the office. The only thing you need to do after treatment is massage the area daily for the first five days to encourage collagen production.

You should begin to see results within six weeks after your final injection, and you should see optimal results within 18 months of treatment.

As your body continues to produce new collagen, your buttocks will become more contoured. Results can last for years, but you may opt to receive maintenance injections to retain volume.
