Two of the most common cosmetic complaints are dark spots and blemishes. Younger patients often have dark spots as a result of prior acne. Female patients often have melasma, which is usually caused by a combination of hormones and sun exposure. 

As one gets older, sun spots and benign skin growths called keratosis are the most common causes of dark spots. Dark spots are a universal problem affecting a wide spectrum of patients across different age groups.

Depending on your age, skin type and tolerance for downtime, we will pick a laser for you that is unique to your specific needs.

  • Q switched ruby laser 695 nm for birthmarks and tattoo ink (green, black)
  • Q switched ND-YAG laser 1064/532 nm for age spots, birthmarks, and tattoo ink (black, blue, brown, and red)
